2. December 2022: After the withdrawal of Russian occupation forces, many eastern Ukrainian settlements are without electricity, heating and water. Nevertheless, most people do not want to leave their houses and apartments – because they do not know where to go. And because they don’t want to give up their towns and villages – their country. But the Ukrainian winter is harsh. That’s why the brave people in eastern Ukraine need solidarity – your solidarity! With your donation you help to bring armored vehicles of German fire departments to the east of Ukraine. The vehicles have four-wheel drive, a winch and an emergency generator; they also have space for drinking water tanks, mobile generators and other relief supplies. MORE

We have delivered: Fire trucks and other Relief supplies arrived in Charkiw
PEN Berlin spokesperson Deniz Yücel and co-initiator Liane Bednarz today handed over urgently needed supplies to our Ukrainian colleague, writer, musician, and German Peace Prize laureate Serhij Zhadan: Two IVECO fire-fighting trucks, each with a 20kVA generator, a trailer with twenty-eight 8kVA diesel generators, one 50kVA diesel generator, two 6.6kVA gasoline generators, 6x6kW construction heaters, and seven 1000-liter frost-proof drinking water tanks. Last weekend (15.04.- 16.04.2023) our driver Christian handed over the second aid delivery of the campaign »Fire trucks for Kharkiv« in Lviv to Switlana from the »Lviv Volunteers«.
The campaign »Fire trucks for Kharkiv« collected donations in the amount of 196,554.85 (one hundred and ninety-six thousand five hundred and fifty-four!) Euros.
