PEN Berlin is growing – new members: Christian Baron, Barbara Bleisch, and Oliver Reese
The PEN Berlin writers’ association held an extraordinary general Assembly on Sunday, 26 April 2026, and admitted 26 new members.
Among those elected are the Islamic studies scholar Katajun Amirpur, the writer Christian Baron, the philosopher Barbara Bleisch, the journalist Kai Diekmann, the author and psychologist Stephan Grünewald, poetry slammer Aidin Halimi, sociologist Nils Kumkar, writer Lana Lux, political scientist Philip Manow, poet and psycho-oncologist Sudabeh Mohafez, writer Veronika Peters, artistic director of the Berliner Ensemble Oliver Reese, and writer Uwe Wittstock.
Founded in June 2022, PEN Berlin has now grown to around 730 members.
